Medecins du Monde Turkey (MDM-T) / Dünya Doktorları Dernegi (DDD) is a Turkish based humanitarian non-governmental organisation that facilitates access to healthcare for populations affected by armed conflict, violence, natural disasters, disease, famine, poverty and exclusion.

Our organization collaborates with partners and key stakeholders to implement projects that facilitate access to primary and secondary-level healthcare services to respond to the medical needs of displaced population.

Reporting Structure: The PHC Doctor and Team Leader reports to the Programme Medical Manager and directly supervises clinic staff.

Knowledge & Qualification

Medical Doctor Certificate 

Experience

2 years’ experience as doctor, and 1 year experience in management field with NGOs  

 Languages

·       Required: Arabic  (oral and written)

·       Preferred: English

IT & Equipment

·       Good proficiency with Microsoft package

 Intellectual & Physical (if required) 

·        Intact physically  

Communication & Information flow (if required)

  • Good communication skills with teamwork, and patients 

General Qualities required: 

·        Diplomatic; 

·        Flexibility and capacity of adapt to complex and changing contexts; 

·        Ability to work in an international context and collaborate with international and national experts; 

·        Familiar with multicultural environment; 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

The PHC Doctor and Team Leader will allocate 75% of their time (six hours a day) to medical functions and 25% of their time (two hours a day) to other responsibilities such as representation, project management, team management, logistical needs identification and follow-up, and reporting.

Medical

·       Conduct medical assessments and treatments following DDD treatment protocols.

·       Alert the line manager about any urgent cases according to EWARN criteria.

·       Provide patients with explanations regarding diagnoses and treatments.

·       Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality are maintained.

·       Maintain accurate patient records and prescriptions.

·       Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver health education to patients.

·     Oversee the completion of patient files and gather necessary dataCase Identification and Referrals

 Representation

·       Act as a representative of the DDD Facility to local authorities and stakeholders when visiting the clinic and if needed.

·       Identify and propose potential partnerships and services.

·       Attend and report on Community Health Committee meetings

Project Management

·       Coordinate teams to monitor ongoing needs.

·       Develop schedules and work plans with the Programme Medical Manager.

·       Monitor day-to-day activities and update project activity maps.

Team Management

·       Ensure team members adhere to internal regulations.

·       Address conflicts within the team with support from the Line Manager and HR Department.

·       Mediate disputes fairly and responsibly.

·       Maintain HR process follow-up in collaboration with the Admin/HR team.

Logistical needs identification and follow-up

·       Prepare weekly movement plans for team members and communicate them to the line manager and logistics.

·       Monitor and address logistical needs at the facility.

·       Ensure all necessary consumables, stationery, and equipment are available and appropriate.

Reporting

·       Submit monthly reports on activities, challenges, and recommendations.

·       Provide weekly updates on project progress to the line manager.

·       Report any issues related to activity implementation.

·       Fulfill any other reporting requirements as requested by the Line Manager.

·       Provide a mission report and/or handover document at the end of the contract.

Other related tasks 

·       Any other related DDD tasks as assigned by supervisor/line manager.

As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of Dünya Doktorları Derneği and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity. Communicates these values to staff and to partners and requires them to adhere to these values.
