Medecins du Monde Turkey (MDM-T) / Dünya Doktorları Dernegi (DDD) is a Turkish based humanitarian non-governmental organisation that facilitates access to healthcare for populations affected by armed conflict, violence, natural disasters, disease, famine, poverty and exclusion.
Our organization collaborates with partners and key stakeholders to implement projects that facilitate access to primary and secondary-level healthcare services to respond to the medical needs of displaced population.

Based in Northwest Syria, the Incinerator Technician is under the line management of the Programme Medical Manager.
Status: Fixed-Term Contract

EXPECTED PROFILE
Knowledge & Qualification
· A degree in fields such as environmental technology, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
· Carrying out the tasks related to operating the incinerator according to DDD approved protocols.
· Ignite burners, run the incinerator, and ensure the fire takes off well.
· Adjust blowers and dampers that regulate airflow and temperature, and to control charging, discharging, and quenching mechanisms of furnace.
Experience
· 2 years of previous work with medical NGOs,
· Prior experience in a related field, such as waste management, environmental services, or industrial maintenance, is often preferred. Experience with machinery operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting can be particularly valuable.
· Previous experience in waste management, industrial operations, or a related field is often preferred.
· Practical training or apprenticeship in waste incineration can be highly beneficial.
Languages
· Required: Fluency Arabic (oral and written)
· Preferred: English
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Calibrate the furnace used in the burning of waste materials and the potential recovery of energy from incineration processes, by measuring the operation settings such as temperature and pressure and changing them to the required settings to ensure efficient and safe operations.
· Measure temperature of product to determine necessity for adjusting furnace temperature or timing cycle, using thermal instruments and charts.
· Monitor the procedures involved in the incineration of waste and potential energy recovery from the process, to ensure that it is compliant with health, safety, and environmental regulations as well as to ensure efficiency and proper functioning of the incineration equipment.
· Perform routine check on the functionality of the incinerator and identify and faults.
· Supervise the incinerator workers and oversee cleaning activities.
· Ensuring availability of hygiene and sanitation products and draws up orders for on-going needs.
· Informing any repair or maintenance work needed related to the incinerator, cranes, conveyor equipment, and exhaust system.
· Informing any relevant information related to his/her responsibilities or any incidents that might compromise his/her (or that of others) safety or security.
· Any other related DDD tasks as assigned by supervisor/line manager.
