Medecins du Monde Turkey (MDM-T) / Dünya Doktorları Dernegi (DDD) is a Turkish based humanitarian non-governmental organisation that facilitates access to healthcare for populations affected by armed conflict, violence, natural disasters, disease, famine, poverty and exclusion. 

Our organization collaborates with partners and key stakeholders to implement projects that facilitate access to primary and secondary-level healthcare services to respond to the medical needs of displaced population.

**Hierarchical & Functional links**
Based in Hatay, the Nurse/Health Counsellor is under the line management of the Field Manager and PHC Doctor.

**Status:**    Fixed-Term Contract(with possible extension)

**EXPECTED PROFILE**
**Education & Qualification**
- A degree in midwifery nursing/nursing or related field is required

**Professional Experience**
- 2 years of experience in a clinical setting on SRH, Familly Planning, Gynaecology Nursery.

**Languages**
- Required: Turkish and/or Arabic
- Preferred: English

- Familiar with multicultural environment;

4.    Main Responsibilities
•    Providing ante-natal care and post-natal care (ANC&PNC).
•    Providing family planning consultation, under supervision of the Health Counsellor.
•    Assisting and Supporting the Health Counsellor.
•    Other duties assigned by supervisors.


**FUNCTIONAL DETAILS**
**Providing ante-natal care and post-natal care (ANC&PNC)**
- Know, apply, and make sure universal hygiene standards. Ensure asepsis rules during all nursing cares. 
- Implement medical protocols according to internationally accepted/DDD standards;
- In collaboration with the medical staff, provide regular health education to patients on diagnosis, treatment and medication, family planning and SRH related issues (if prescribed);
- Asses the needs further up to the humanitarian needs and refer cases to the suitable healthcare service providers or to the related internal focal person(case worker or MHPSS team member) up to beneficiary’s needs;
- Ensure that patient privacy and confidentiality are respected and ensure quality of the sterilization process.
- Follow WHO/ MoH guidelines of ANC/PNC on screening, nutrition, immunization and education;
- Examining and monitoring pregnant women, when it is required;
- Assessing care requirements and writing care plan, when it is required;
- Taking patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures, when it is requreid;
- Recording the visit’s detail in the ANC/PNC patient file and enter them to the data system;
- Ensuring a proper follow-up of each beneficiary;
- Referring a high-risk case to the Health Counsellor/PHC Doctor/Gyanecologist and support/assist them during their consultaitons;
- Providing information, emotional support and reassurance to pregnant ladies and their families, when it is required;
- Advising about and supporting parents in the daily care of their newborn babies, when it is required;

**Providing family planning consultation ,under supervision of the unit’s doctor**
- Refer the case to the unit’s doctor for the first consultation;
- Follow up the used method and discovering any possible side effects;
- Preforms pregnancy test if required.

**Reporting**
- Conducting appropriate data entry for each case.
- Filling DDD files depending on direct line explanation
- Write the treatment on prescription depending on direct line recommendation
- Filling tally sheets forms, outpatient’s form, referral forms, referral registration and daily morbidity
- Report relevant activities through data collection and reporting system;
- Draft monthly and annual activity reports;
- Contribute to the situation reports when needed;
- Provide a mission report and/or handover document at the end of contract.

**Other**
- Attend meetings related to sexual reproductive health, representing DDD, and provide appropriate feed-back, when it is required;
- Participate in internal work meetings and inform DDD team on relevant issues;
- Report any security related issues to the line manager;
- Respect the privacy of the patients and the confidentiality;
- Provide regular reporting on her/his activities to the line manager upon solicitation;
- Any other relevant duties requested by the line manager.
- Any other related DDD tasks as assigned by supervisor/line manager.

As applicable to the position, maintains a clear understanding of Dünya Doktorları Derneği and donor compliance and ethics standards and adheres to those standards. Conducts work with the highest level of integrity. Communicates these values to staff and to partners and requires them to adhere to these values.
